The Art and Style of YC

A scene from Bubblegum Dream Machine. This side hallway at You Connection's previous production facility appears frequently in YC films produced from 2020-2025.

The red Bible appears in nearly all You Connection films and theatre presentations.

Escape from the Grand Guignol is an example of an amalgam of styles- pulling from Grand Guignol horror plays to psychological thriller to surrealism to rock musical- as well as a dense theological look at truth, paradoxes, and the struggle between Christianity and secular opposition.

You Connection is a world of symbols and allegories. In Little Crooked House, everything in the Prim household is generally red or pink, because (quite literally in this tale) home is where the heart is.

You Connection is a nonprofit company with extremely modest budgets, and we make NO EFFORT to hide our "scotch tape and popsicle sticks" style of independent filmmaking; in fact, we even make the raw, clunky aspects of modest budget filmmaking part of the whole deal! Imagination, talent, creativity, and of course, powerful theology are our chief ingredients.

We have a stock company of performers who are involved in YC film and theatre projects, and the wide age range of performers reflects the all-age demographic of most You Connection content; it's built on several layers so a variety of ages can get something out of it, from seasoned adults to young adults to teens and preteens.

YC films have numerous "Easter Eggs"- that is, little or hidden details that are only noticed when you watch closely. Megsie searching for salvation in an urban fantasy landscape gives the standard "One Way" sign a whole new meaning.
